Conference at a Glance (download)

Workshops
Rail~Volution offers a wide variety of workshops with something for everyone – whether you’re new to the livability community, a seasoned practitioner or somewhere in between. At this year’s Rail~Volution, there will be more than 50 workshops organized into the categories described here.

Networking Events
There are a number of opportunities throughout Rail~Volution 2008 to network and to get to know your colleagues from around the country. These informal events are spread throughout the three-day conference and provide you with a chance to talk with other livability advocates, share stories about your respective communities, and exchange valuable information.

Charrettes
The Bay Area’s diversity, density and growing population are fertile ground for charrettes. Participate in one of these fascinating charrettes and bring home a new tool for helping your own livable community.

Mobile Workshops
The mobile workshops available as part of Rail~Volution 2008 offer participants a first-hand look at the Bay Area’s unique communities that emphasize the role of transit and bicycling, effective design, public/private partnerships and innovations in sustainability.

Seminar
The Techniques and Metrics of Sustainable Urbanism
